Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee
Eatonton is home to Cuscowilla, the awarding-winning golf resort and residential community nestled along the shores of Lake Oconee. Rated #1 Best course you can play in Georgia in 2009 by Golfweek, it was established in 1997 and designed to preserve the legendary serenity of the area's Seed Orchard. With 700 acres of gently rolling property characterized with towering pines and expansive fields of native Bluestein grasses, Coore and Crenshaw took full advantage of this uniquely suited site to lay out 18 holes of golf that lazily yet purposefully wind their way through this spectacular property. The holes build upon themselves as you make your round, with each one demanding thought as well as execution with every stroke.
Cuscowilla is a highly acclaimed eighteen-hole championship golf course and includes a unique Frank Lloyd Wright inspired Golf House. A huge resort swimming pool, tennis courts and miles of nature walking trails ensure that even the non-golfer enjoys Cuscowilla's rich wealth of amenities. Lake and interior pond fishing, boating, bike rides and a Kids Club make Cuscowilla a year-round family destination.
The resort is home to two restaurants, the casual Golf House Grill and elegant Waterside Restaurant. Cuscowilla has Cedar Golf Cottages and Lake Villa's for rent to resort guests.
