Geocaching
Join the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce in the ultimate family "Scavenger Hunt" that's sweeping the globe, geocaching.
The latest in family adventure is a high-tech scavenger hunt called Geocaching and the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce has joined the craze. Geocaching is a worldwide quest for a hidden treasure or a "cache". Using the technology of the internet and a hand-held GPS (Global Positioning System) unit, participants search latitude and longitude coordinates to find the cache.
With the launch of eight cache sites, the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce is an eager participant. The sites are all located within Putnam County and engage the geocacher in the history and culture of our community. Visit all eight locations, collect the trading cards along the way and then visit the Chamber of Commerce to redeem for an Eatonton prize!
