With summer quickly coming to an end and the kids gearing up to head back to school, we thought it would be a good idea to come up with an End-Of-Summer Bucket List with all of the fun things to do in Eatonton and around the Lake Country!
So let’s get started!
Nothing says summer quite like visiting one of the two lakes we have right here in Georgia’s Lake Country. Whether you are cruising on a pontoon, fishing on the bank or kayaking into the sunset, the lake is something you do not want to miss out on this summer!
2. Go Camping
Sometimes it is nice to get away from it all and there is no better way to do so than to go camping. Whether you’re a tent camper or an RV lover, you can’t go wrong at any of the campgrounds in the area.
Grab some friends and some bottled water and take a stroll through some of the great trails and parks we have here. Learn about the native plants and animals along the way and maybe even pack a lunch and visit the Rock Eagle mound or Rock Hawk Effigy for a picnic. Don’t let the summer sun get you down!
Take a leisurely cruise through downtown on one of the new community bikes offered by the Eatonton-Putnam Chamber of Commerce. Learn about the historic antebellum homes and stop in some of the local downtown shops and restaurants.
Treat the family to a movie at Parkside Main 8 to see one of the new releases they have coming out this summer. What better way to beat the heat than to sit back and relax with a bag of popcorn and some great company?
6. Go Golfing
Gear up and head on over to one of the many golf courses we have here in the Lake Country for a fun day of golf! Enjoy 18 holes of professional-caliber golf with spectacular views before heading off to your next fun summertime event!
7. Go Shopping
Make sure you get all of your back to school shopping done by visiting some of the local shops in the area. You are sure to find everything you need and then some!
